Mono County Property Assessed Clean Energy Program ( PACE )

On July 7, 2014 Mono County Board of Supervisors entered into an agreement with the Western Riverside Council of Governments, allowing Mono County residents to participate in the Home Energy Renovation Opportunities (HERO) Program.

The HERO Program provides private funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to Residential and Commercial Property Owners. This funding is secured by the property and collected as an assessment on the property tax bill. The unique aspect of this type of funding is that it is not based on household income or FICO scores; it is primarily based on property equity.

There are more than 900,000 products approved through the HERO Program. Some of the eligible products include:
– Solar Panels
– Geothermal Heating and Cooling
– Whole House Heating and Cooling (HVAC) Systems
– Window and Glass Doors
– Insulation
– Tankless Water Heater
